Dr Gary Yoong is a consultant radiologist who is subspecialized in interventional and body radiology/therapeutics with interest in oncology, hepatobiliary and transplant. This is in addition to experience with CT coronary, musculoskeletal, neurological, emergency and breast imaging.
Graduating from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in National University of Singapore in 2011, he spent his formative years in various clinical postings and subsequently obtained fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (London) and Master of Medicine Radiology (Singapore) in 2016, serving as Chief Resident while in the NUHS Residency Programme.
He was also the gold medal recipient of the Diagnostic Radiology Certifying Examination for the Structure Oral Exit Exam in 2018.
Prior to private practice, Dr Yoong was a consultant radiologist in the National University Hospital Systems where he worked closely with various clinical departments in particular the liver transplant team and medical oncology, supporting patients for tumour biopsy, ablation, chemoembolization, vascular access and transplant intervention. He was also an appointed Clinical Lecturer for the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
In the local and international arena, Dr Yoong has spoken and participated in local and regional conferences and workshops, particularly in the fields of tumour ablation and oncologic intervention. He has also published in international journals.
Outside of work, Dr Yoong spends his time with his family or cycles/jogs in the national parks.
